Expert Care for a Second Chance at Success
If you’ve regained weight or experienced complications after your first bariatric surgery, our experienced surgeons can help you safely get back on track with bariatric revision surgery.
Bariatric revision surgery refers to corrective or secondary weight-loss procedures performed on patients who have already undergone a bariatric operation, such as sleeve gastrectomy, but are now facing new challenges.
These challenges may include weight regain, reflux, or other medical complications that limit success.
At Grand Health Partners, our bariatric revision surgery team combines advanced surgical expertise with compassionate, judgment-free care to help you reclaim your health and confidence.
We are currently able to provide limited revision services to patients whose previous bariatric surgery was performed by any non-GHP physicians. Our office is considering patients for revisional surgery on a case-by-case basis. Your medical records from your primary care doctor and previous bariatric surgeon are necessary for us to review your individual case.

Every patient’s situation is unique, but some of the most common reasons for a bariatric surgery revision include:
Revisional procedures are among the most technically complex operations in bariatric care. They should only be performed by experienced bariatric surgeons with the resources to provide multidisciplinary support.
GHP offers advanced options such as SADI-S for patients who’ve previously had a sleeve gastrectomy, as well as other revision techniques for gastric-bypass patients when appropriate. Our coordinated team of surgeons, dietitians, and behavioral specialists guides you every step of the way.
You’re not starting over, you’re building on what you’ve already learned, with the right support this time.

Our surgeons perform several types of bariatric revision surgeries to help patients safely improve outcomes from prior weight-loss procedures. Each case is carefully evaluated to determine the safest and most effective approach.
For patients who are having complications or issues after a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, revisions may be an option. Revision options may include resizing the gastric pouch or adjusting the connection between the stomach and small intestine. These procedures demand advanced surgical skill and detailed pre-operative evaluation.
Note: SADI-S is not used as a revision method for gastric bypass surgeries.
For patients who previously had a sleeve gastrectomy and are seeking additional weight loss or relief from reflux symptoms.
Revision options may include conversion to gastric bypass or SADI-S, depending on individual anatomy and goals.
SADI-S is a specialized conversion procedure that adds a single anastomosis small intestine bypass to the sleeve gastrectomy in order to reduce calorie absorption.
The SADI-S procedure is typically performed as a revisional surgery for patients who have previously had a sleeve gastrectomy. It’s not designed as a revision option for patients with prior gastric bypass surgeries. During your consultation, our team will determine which revision approach is safest and most effective for your anatomy and health goals.
In select cases, our team may recommend additional revisional approaches based on anatomy, surgical history, and long-term health needs.
