The Getting Healthy 1200 Program is a low calorie diet of 1200 calories per day. Before starting the program, you’ll meet with one of our internal medicine physicians for a history and physical, followed by appointments with a registered dietitian and an exercise physiologist. Following these initial visits, you’ll be started on a customized meal plan and exercise program. The high protein/low calorie products on your individualized grocery list can be purchased in the GHP health food store located in our office, or through our online store. Your attendance at regular group meetings over 24 weeks will reinforce the behavioral intervention, nutritional education, and healthy exercise practices that make our Getting Healthy 1200 Program successful. At Week 20, you will meet with a dietitian for support moving into the final weeks of the program and beyond. You also have a one-on-one individual visit with a behaviorist, dietitian, or exercise physiologist. This program is a lower cost option.
